strange vlan tag state

    Hi all!

    Why vlan have both flag ! and * ?
    What does it mean?

    Hi Anton, at the very bottom of the output you've attached, there's the Flags: section that lists out what each of those flags mean

    Flags: (*) Active, (!) Disabled, (g) Load Sharing port
    (a) Egress traffic allowed for NetLogin
    (u) Egress traffic unallowed for NetLogin
    (t) Translate VLAN tag for Private-VLAN
    (s) Private-VLAN System Port, (L) Loopback port
    (x) VMAN Tag Translated port
    (G) Multi-switch LAG Group port
    (H) Dynamically added by MVRP
    (D) TRILL Designated, (A) TRILL Appointed Forwarder
    (I) Dynamically added by IDM
    (U) Dynamically added uplink port

    The * means the port is active, while the ! means it's disabled.

    I was going to add " I don know why you're seeing both on a single port. I just tried it on an X460 and X670 running 15.3.2.11 and 15.6.3.1 using a manual disable and protocol disable but can only seE one of the two states"

    I perfectly understand each flag separately, but not in a place, everything works at this port perfectly, but existence of Disabled confuses.

    Hi,

    From what I recall of some past labs I did, it can happen to have both. If I remember correctly, this can be due to another protocol disabling the port. I'd try to see around ELRP, MLAG, EAPS, Port Mirroring... see if there's something relevant in your context/config.

    Why is 45 the current Master of your LAG while 46 is the configured Master?

    If the port is blocked it will typically have a "b" next to it not a "!". Can you try to toggle the port on and off to see if the flag resets?

    It is expected to see the less active port number as the current master irrespective of the configured master. That mystery is solved. 🙂

    Thank you for sharing the outputs. I see that this sharing group is a part of multiple VLANs, are you seeing a similar output of this port in all the associated VLANs?

    Can you please also share the following output from all the sharing group ports?
