    Can I run different types of MSM modules on one 8810 or 8806 machine?

    For example, can I run MSM-48c and MSM-96 on one machine?
    Can I run MSM-48c and MSM-128 on one machine?

    Please answer me.

    BlackDiamond 8810 switch
    Slots 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10 can accommodate only I/O modules.
    Slot 5/A can accommodate only an MSM
    Slot 6/B can accommodate only an MSM, with the exception noted in Table below:-

    8806 switch
    Slots 1, 2, 5, and 6 can accommodate only I/O modules.
    Slot 3/A can accommodate only an MSM.
    Slot 4/B can accommodate only an MSM, with the exception noted in Table below:-

    To add to the information that Sumeesh provided, there is some limited support for running mismatched MSMs temporarily to facilitate an MSM upgrade.

    However, this is supported for migration only, and the switch should not be run with mismatched MSMs in a production environment.
