Rookie Enterasys user here. We have a stack of 4 C5G124-48P2's. A problem yesterday caused the stack to reboot. When it came back up, regular ethernet ports 45-48 stopped working 3 slaves, but the GBIC ports 45-48 are still working. We use a mix of GBIC and the ethernet ports on that end of the switches. As a temporary work around, I moved the ethernet stuff to lower numbered ports, but I'd like to get it put back.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Steve,
I believe the ports 45-48 are combo ports. You have a choice to use either the copper port or the sfp port but not both. I believe if the sfp is populated it should take precedence.

From the hardware manual the same is true for both 24 and 48 port models.
Each combo SFP port in use eliminates the availability of one RJ45 port. In other words, only 24
ports per slot can be active at any given time on components equipped with a combination of RJ45
and SFP interfaces. When an SFP transceiver in SFP port 23 establishes a link, RJ45 port 23 is
disabled. When an SFP transceiver in SFP port 24 establishes a link, RJ45 port 24 is disabled.

What firmware is running on this stack?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The combo ports behavior is what I expected from the 3Com switches at my last job, but it seems like they're all dead. Of the 12 ports (4 ports on 3 switches) we're only using 2 SPF ports. If I plug anything into the unused ethernet ports, nothing happens. No lights, no link.

    We're currently on firmware

    Hi Steve,

If that is the case I suggest you open a ticket so we can look through the logs and see what happened.

I would suggest collecting the show support and current.log from the stack.
How to Retrieve Current.log File From a Securestack via TFTP
How to collect the Show Support from a SecureStack

I tested this with a later image in the lab on the C5 and I can retest this with your release
