Is 10.3r3 supposed to cap the power on Wifi1 at a max of 14? I upgrade 5 AP to test and all cap power at 14.
caps @ 14 on DFS channels, 16 on lower 5 Ghz band (UNII-1), 18 on higher band (UNII-3). On 10.3r2 I got the most power on the DFS channels almost always got 20.
That should be based on your country code more than the firmware version, but if you think it’s an issue with the new firmware I’d recommend pulling tech data on your current firmware, roll back to the firmware version you were on previously and get a tech data file from that version as well, and then open a case and submit both tech data files to the case so our engineers can compare the data.
I already have a case open and I’ve already tested it. On 10.3r3 power on DFS channels caps at 14 as soon as you downgrade the firmware back to 10.3r2 the power comes up as 19. I’ve also tried a few reboots and switching channels on a single AP which is how I know what the max power will set to even if you manually chose 20 will set to. Updating the firmware doesn’t change the country code, right? I checked and 5 Ghz radio profiles don’t have a Country Code setting.
That is correct, updating the firmware won’t change the country code. You can see what country code you’re using currently with the command “show boot-param”.
To change the country code, you’d need to request a call with support, that isn’t something you’d be able to adjust on your own.
Or for anyone that doesn’t have support currently, I can help you with that as well, feel free to reach out to email@example.com to set up a call to adjust the country code if needed.

Country Code is the same
Setting this undocumented (or can’t seem to find any mention of it) item allows 10.3r3 to run above power 14 on 5 Ghz. It defaults to Outdoor I believe.
Actually, change Outdoor to indoor just caused the antenna setting to change back to default. In testing it just choosing the default antenna also allows the power setting to be set above 14 on DFS.
Where would I find this setting?
