I want to block some specific user consuming more internet data.
How do I block specific wifi connected user in network using HM ?
If you only have a couple users you need to block, I would recommend a MAC firewall rule in the User Profile of the SSID that denies traffic from a specific MAC address. If you have more than a few users we need to block, I would recommend doing this through a firewall or content filter rather than the APs.
You can also set up QoS within the User Profile of an SSID, to limit the amount of data any users in this SSID can pass at any given time. This won't block the user outright, but would keep them from overloading your network when connected.
Can we limit the amount of data ? I find only limit data rate(Mbps), couldn't find the how to limit amount of data using !!!
Sorry, that is what I meant, we can limit the amount of data that a client device is able to pass at any given moment, that would be through the QoS objects in the user profile. Data rates would be in the SSID optional settings, and that's a bit different, more about speed than amount.
For limit the data, we need to create aerohive radius server ryt ?
You won't need a radius server. To set up QoS you will want to go to Configure> Open the Network Policy> Open the SSID> Open the User Profile in use on the SSID> Go to the QoS tab and toggle QoS to "ON".
