10Gb SFP+ 10GBASE-T capabilities

10Gb SFP+ 10GBASE-T capabilities

Hello, everyone,

I've found a very intersting item in the price:

10338 10Gb SFP+ 10GBASE-T 10Gb SFP+, 10GBASE-T RJ45, 30m with Cat6a

Could somebody please tell me:

1) Does it work in all Summit's and 220's SFP+ (10Gb) ports?
2) How many 10338 10Gb SFP+ 10GBASE-T transceivers could I plug into X670 (gen1, gen2)?

Many thanks in advance,

Ilya

P.S. Does Extreme have mGig (2,5Gb, 5Gb, 10Gb) swithes at the moment?

I'd try with 10065 1000BASE-T SFP module. It was supported in X670 so should be in X670-G2 either. Extreme has to update the supported optics matrix in WW_Reference_Info available for partners (last update was some time ago...).

Have a look at this thread: https://community.extremenetworks.com/switching-routing-90302/how-to-configure-1g-baset-spf-in-summit-x670-g2-6641245#post15655800

Kind regards,

Hi, Ilya. You can check the compatibility for all optical devices using the Hardware/Software Compatibility Matrix.

Item 10338 is compatible with most of the G2 switches: X440-G2, X450-G2, X460-G2, X620, X670-G2, X690. You can use it in up to half of the 10Gb ports. The exact wording of the usage note is Populate every other SFP+ port in system, with a maximum of half the 10Gb SFP+ ports configured with 10GBASE-T transceivers. An adjacent SFP+ port should remain unused for every 10GBASE-T SFP+ installed.

10338 is not compatible with the 200 Series switches.

Hope that helps.

The limitation is still in effect.

10GBASE-T SFP+ (PN 10338) can negotiate also at 1Gbps?
