Hello

I have been reading some S1 Chassis Datasheets.  I have noticed that these Datasheets are always reffering to the S1 Chassis as "S1A" Chassis. Is the "S1A" Chassis a new Version of the origanaly S1 Chassis? If so, what is the difference? How can I verify this Version?

Thanks.

Ray

The S180 Class fabric modules have power demands that make the S1-CHASSIS (and S1-FAN) incompatible with them. For S180 Fabric support in a single-slot chassis, use the S1-CHASSIS-A (and S1-FAN-A) instead. The S1-CHASSIS-A is compatible with any class of fabric module. Both S1 chassis models are compatible with the S1-FAN-A and both use either one or two (for redundancy) SSA-AC-PS-1000W power supplies. The fan module is included with chassis purchase but power supplies are not.

The chassis model number should appear next to its serial number.

Thank you Paul for the Information.

Therefore it is possible to upgrade a S1 chassis to a S1A Chassis by replacing the FAN tray through S1-FAN-A and the SSA-AC-PS-1000W. Right?  The employment of  the S180 Class Fabric Modules could be than possible.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks

No.  The S1-CHASSIS-A is different from the S1-CHASSIS, and is needed if you want to put a S180 Fabric into a single-slot chassis. Both the S1-FAN-A and SSA-AC-PS-1000W are compatible with either chassis type - but their use does not turn a S1-CHASSIS into a S1-CHASSIS-A.

Hi,
this restriction is only on S180 in S1-Chassis (or S3, at least there is S3-Chassis-A)?
Are there any new versions of S4 or S8 Chassis too?
