Could someone explain what the following fields within the show edp port * detail command mean?

Tx stats: sw-pdu-tx=846 vlan-pdu-tx=846
Rx stats: sw-pdu-rx=875 vlan-pdu-rx=0

Specifically the VLAN PDUs. Are these sent over a specific VLAN and if so which VLAN are these sent over if a number of VLANs are inuse on the port?

Thanks

Thanks for the explanation.

Specifically the VLAN PDUs:

The VLAN PDUs are only sent if there was already an EDP neighbor discovered.

VLAN PDU's header do not contain VLAN header.

VLAN PDUs usually contain VLAN name, VLAN tag and VLAN IP (if configured) of all VLANs configured on that port.

EDP is similar to LLDP or CDP. It is an Extreme to Extreme neighbor discovery protocol where two connected Extreme switches share information about each other. Netsight will also use this information to discover topology and how things are connected.

Show edp port all and Show edp port xx detail are two commands you should look at....

It is good practice to disable edp on any port that is connected to another vendor network device or a client facing port.
