ERLP not working when using vlan default

ERLP not working when using vlan default

I have a X440-G2-24P-10GE4 switch and configured two vlan's. VLAN-A and VLAN-B

Firmware is 22.4.1.4

In VLAN-A there are the ports 1,2,3 and 4 and in VLAN-B ports 5,6,7 and 8.

To make sure that there a no connetions made between VLAN-A and VLAN-B on the switch I configured all ports tagged in vlan Default and configure ELRP:

configure elrp-client periodic Default ports 1-8 interval 1 log-and-trap disable-port permanent

Since firmware 22.2 STP is by default enabled on vlan Default.

When I connect port 1 and 2, both ports go up and ELRP doesn't work, till I disable stpd.

Is this normal behaviour ?

Johan,

With STP enabled on VLAN default one of those ports will be blocked, preventing ELRP from working. If I understand the situation correctly.
