Extreme Management Center Database EXE locking a single AD account

Extreme Management Center Database EXE locking a single AD account

Hi,

I am having some issues with Extreme Management Center on Server 2012r2

A little over a week ago, I changed my AD account password. Immediately upon changing my password, my account started getting locked out. Once unlocked I am locked again within 30 seconds.

I traced the lockout issue to the Extreme Management Server, so I ran message analyzer to see what process is spawning the kerberos auth requests.

To my surprise the process locking my account out is nsdatabase.exe the Netsight Database Service.

I called GTAC in an attempt to figure out what was going on because these lockouts are constant. They aren't tied to attempting to login to the server, none of the netsight/extreme management center services have ever been configured to logon as my account, and the software was installed under the local admin account.

I eventually reset my password back to what it was, but no dice, for some reason the server is still locking me.

I have changed service logons from default and upgraded the software to the latest version but none of these resolved the issue.

So far GTAC has been no help, they poked and prodded and tossed out their hands like we don't know whats going on. I'm hoping someone else in the community has seen this and can provide a solution to this. For now our Extreme Management Center server is a brick that sits powered off until GTAC sends new things to try.

Later this week if no solution, I'll nuke, pave, and spin up a totally new server with nothing carried over from the current one then rebuild the XMC environment by hand. But I'd like to know what caused this bizarre behavior in case it happens again in the future.

Since I am out of the office at the end of the week I decided to rebuild the environment on a new VM. New instance is working normally. Old instance is still available, and I will continue to press GTAC for an answer as to what happened.
