It is my pleasure to announce the availability of ExtremeXOS® 22.2. Here are some exciting things about this new ExtremeXOS® 22.2 release:

Enable New Revenue Opportunities for Partners and Resellers

  • X870-32c
    High density switch that can act as spine in 100Gb spine-leaf architecture with 32 ports capable of 10/25/40/50/100GbE speeds
  • X870-96x-8c
    High density switch that can act as leaf in 100Gb spine-leaf architecture with 96 x 10Gb ports and 8 x 10/25/40/50/100GbE ports. This switch can also be upgraded to full 100Gb capability via port licensing
  • X620-16p
    New variant of X620 with multi-rate (100Mb/1Gb/2.5Gb/5Gb/10Gb) ports and POE+/POE++
  • X460-G2-16mp-32p-10GE4
    New variant of X460-G2 POE Base-T with 16 multi-rate (1Gb/2.5Gb/5Gb) ports
  • X460-G2-24P-24HP-10GE4
    New variant of X460-G2 POE Base-T switch with 24 ports that can support 10/100 Half-Duplex
  • X460-G2-24T-24HT-10GE4
    New variant of X460-G2 Base-T switch with 24 ports that can support 10/100 Half-Duplex
  • QSFP28 Optics
    New 100G DAC, AOC, SR4, CWDM4, and LR4 Transceivers for X870
Enhance Single Pane of Management & Policy
  • ExtremeFabric v1.0 (Beta only)
    Fabric Solution that is scalable, resilient and easy-to-deploy. Only Config, Discovery, and Forwarding are supported for this first release.
  • Policy Enhancements
  • Convergence End Point
    Dynamically apply policy to a port depending on a device (IP telephone or video device) detected.
  • Authentication Override
    Policy profile will override port authentication via a profile based attribute
Strengthens Enterprise Solutions
  • ELRP with Dynamic VLAN
    Extreme’s proprietary loop prevention (ELRP) mechanism is enhanced to detect loops on dynamic VLANs created by modules like Netlogin/Policy, XNV, MVRP etc.  
  • IP route scaling with ALPM
    Algorithmic longest-prefix match (ALPM) is being used on X670-G2, X770, and X870 platforms to increase hardware IP route scale.
  • VRRP scaling
    Scale of virtual router instances used by VRRP to increase the availability and reliability of routing has been increased to 2K  
  • NTP over multiple VRs
    NTP has been enhanced to work across multiple virtual routers simultaneously.
Enhance Ease of Use & Serviceability Capabilities
  • Node Alias MIB
    Discovery of end systems' VLANID, Source MAC, Source IP, Protocol etc. on a per-port basis.
  • Reliable File Transfers
    File transfers (download and TFTP) commands will automatically attempt to use both default and management VRs
  • STP enhancements
    Multiple STP enhancements (default MSTP, support for netlogin campus mode etc.) were made to make it more robust and resilient.
  • Automatically save configuration
    Periodically auto-saves current running switch configuration
  • Manage Process Control Groups
    Segregate processes running on a device into groups and assign appropriate limits for usage of memory and CPU.
