Afternoon all,

We had an issue on our network yesterday where 2 members of a 3 switch stack thought they were the "Master" of the stack. This seems to have corrupted the forward database in the end causing a traffic storm on our network... kind of acted like an arp flood transforming our network in a big hub !!

Power cycling the stack was what fixed the issue in the end but I'd like to know if you guys think some mechanism would've prevent this from happening ?

Thanks in advance for you comments / suggestions

I'd suggest upgrading that stack to the recommended EXOS release for the X460.

There have been quite a few fixes since 15.3.2, and if I remember correctly, several for issues that could cause that exact behavior.
