Where are all the Enterasys articles? I have a challenge for Extreme, try finding information about implementing CEP on C-Series switches. Or better yet trying finding any helpful information for Enterasys switches?

As for the HUB that is even worse, can someone answer a question for me? Why when I modify the advanced search selection by selecting to see only EOS related items I get nothing back on a search? Matter of fact I did a search on all and only received two hits. Pardon me for my harsh words but I am beyond frustrated!!!

Hello Matt,

For in-depth CEP configuration I would suggest the CLI Reference & Configuration guides.

Here is a quick overview:
The first thing you want to determine is what detection type you want to use (CDP or LLDP-MED).  For CDP, the configuration would be as follows:

set cep enable (enable cep globally)

set cep port ge.1.5 cisco enable (enable cep on a specific port and specify the method of detection to 'cisco' (cdp))

set cep policy cisco 1 (assign the policy index of '1' to the cisco detection mechanism)

You would also need ciscodp enabled on the port and a corresponding policy index.

For LLDP-MED, you would replace the 'cisco' with 'lldp-med' and ensure LLDP is enabled on the ports.

To ensure everything is working, you can issue a show cep connections.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your feedback.  I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations.

In GTAC Knowledge, there are a few hundred articles for Enterasys products - not all of them have been made public yet.  The KCS methodology that our knowledgebase is built on will eventually get these un-published articles out to the public KB after they see some use (by way of opening cases).  This gives us a chance to validate the solutions they contain.  As you can probably tell, this is a new process for us and it will take time for it to start working.
For your specific CEP question, if you don't find an article on the knowledgebase and there's nothing here on The Hub, you're encouraged to ask the community.

Regarding not finding many articles in The Hub's EOS category... that's a category that I just created last week.  It's mostly empty.  For "old" knowledgebase articles, try including the "FAQ" section in your search.  If you don't find what you're looking for, post the question in a new topic and have the community answer it for you.  Categories here are going to get an update soon to better help with this.

I see that Mike has provided some information above... If you have further questions on the topic, I recommend posting them in a new conversation so others can easily find it and contribute in the future.

Thanks,
-Drew

Could you add more filter options - I'm looking for "newest first".

Thanks,

Hi Ron,
We're going to post a list of new articles each week here on The Hub - starting as soon as I can get the list together :)
That's the quickest solution I think we can offer at the moment.

Will that work for now?

Thanks,
-Drew
