How do I stop the ExtremeManagement service and database in the Linux back-end?

I'm needing to increase the jBoss memory as advised by GTAC. The first step from the article they sent was to stop the service/database. I'm rusty on my Linux commands. 

Is there a FAQ or cheat sheet on common commands?

You'd find a start/stop in the script folder of EMC...

I normally use `/etc/init.d/nsserver stop` and `/etc/init.d/nsdatabase stop`. There's also `nssnmptrapd` and `nstftpd` ones.
