How to implement the third extreme switch on the stack?

Hello to all,

This is my first post here at the community, and to be sincere, I am not very comfortable with extreme. However, here is my situation:

I've got 3 switch on stack, but 1 one them has just broken and I did the RMA and now I have a new one.
I already did the upgrade of firmware and applied the license. I want to know how can I ad this new one to the stack ?

Could you guys help me on it? if possible a step by step :)

If you are attempting to replace a node that was already present then you can simply use the directions below:

If you are attempting to add a node to an already existing stack where the slot hasnt been configured already then you can use the directions below:

It looks like you have done a lot of the grunt work on the new node. Just make sure the partition matches the stack (primary or secondary) and as long as the current master sees the new node all the commands can be placed into the master.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Stacking can get a bit tricky if you are not used to it.

What switches do you have?

When replaceing 460s and 440s we use the following procedure.

On the new switch:
Make sure you are running on the same partition of the stack
Make sure you are running the same code as the stack
<configure stacking protocol enhanced>

You can now connect the stack cables and while the new switch is rebooting.

Connect to the master and wait for the new switch to come online. 
sh stacking 
verify that the mac-address on the new switch matches what shows up next to disabled node on the current stack.

Copy the mac-address of the new switch.
Run these commands below from master switch:

sync stacking node-address "mac-address" 

configure stacking node-address "mac-address" slot "x"
enable stacking node-address "mac-address"
reboot node-address "mac-address"

# Replacement switch will reboot and come online.
show slot 
show stacking 

You should be all set the new switch ports will be configured the way they were on the old slot
