iPads and Apple TVs will not conenct to ssid

We use iPads and Apple TVs in our schools. We have a Enterasys C5210 wireless controller with 3605 and 3610 APs. We have 2 SSIDs that the students/teachers use. One is called "wlan" which uses a static WEP 128 bit key length. Devices cannot connect to "wlan" anymore. It used to work just fine. After entering the passphrase, an error pops up saying, "There was a problem connecting to the network. The Wi-Fi password you entered is not correct. Try again. ", although it is the correct password. Devices can successfully join our other SSID, "wpa" just fine. which uses WPAv2-PSK with AES.
Has anyone ever seen this error or know why we are seeing this issue?

I am not sure why we are using wep on our wlan ssid. When I got here, it was already setup. The C5210 controller is runnning Software: 08.32.16.0001
Thanks everyone for the input.

Check that everything's on, connected, and in rangeMake sure that your Internet router is connected to your modem and that both are on. If your router and modem are combined, just make sure that the device is on.
Keep your Apple TV in range of your router. If it's too far away, your Apple TV won't get a signal.

Connect to Wi-Fi
On Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > Network. On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), go to Settings > General > Network. Choose the name of a compatible Wi-Fi network to join. If asked, enter your Wi-Fi password. If you donā€™t know your password, get help.
Apple TV canā€™t connect to networks that require an additional or secondary login, such as signing into a webpage. These networks, called captive networks, can include free and pay networks in places like businesses, schools, dorms, apartments, hotels, and stores.

Restart your Apple TV, router, and modem
After you restart each device, see if you still need help. On Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > System and select Restart. On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), go to Settings > General and select Restart.
Unplug your router and your cable or DSL modem from power. Then plug them back in.

Use an Ethernet cable and check for software updates
If possible, use an Ethernet cable to connect your Apple TV directly to your router or your cable or DSL modem.
If you can then join your network, check for software updates. On Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > System > Software Updates. On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), go to Settings > General > Update Software. If there's an update, install it. Then unplug your Ethernet cable and try to join your Wi-Fi network again.

I would also look at upgrading the software. There have been many bug fixes that address Apple devices since 8.32.

Hello Laura, you should use WPA2-PSK for your "wlan" SSID, too. This would be the easiest fix for your problem with better security, if you use a long and complex passphrase. You could use the free iPhone configuration tool to create a profile for your devices so there is no need to enter the long passphrase manually on all devices.
