Is it possible to ge a notifikation when a port is blocked because of Edge-Safeguard. For example with Enterasys I've got a trap and could configure Netsight to send me an E-Mail. Is this possible with Extreme and Edge-Safeguard too?

Hi Michael,

Just got the one what you are looking, so there is no need to do the additional configuration, you can use this one in Netsight alarm config.

extremeStpEdgePortLoopDetected
.1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.17.4.0.1
A Loop has been detected and the port will be disabled.

please give it a try and let me know if it works.

Hi Michael,

I have not found a trap so far for this one but i can suggest a workaround with a little configuration overhead but it should work.

Create a log filter for edgesafegaurd disabling a port
"create log filter forEdgesafe"
"configure log filter forEdgesafe add events STP.DsblPortLoopDtect match string Safeguard"

Create a syslog and map the log filter created above
"configure syslog add local0"
"configure log target syslog local0 filter "forEdgesafe"
"enable log target syslog local0 vr "

Create an alarm in Netsight with custom criteria

With an UPM you create an entry about ANYTHING you'll see in the log.
Search the concepts guide for UPM and EMS.
