Lost connectivity with Availability Peer

Lost connectivity with Availability Peer

I have a C5210 controller. I have a primary and a foreign. I got a critical error message from the RU Manager. It says that my foreign controller (.108) lost connectivity with the primary (.109). How do I find out why/how this happened. I think this is the second time in 2 months,

Laura,

If you are still having this issue please feel free to contact us at the GTAC. We can give you some pointers on where to look and why this may be happening.

I think it's hard to find the root cause for the link loss. How long till the tunnel was up again ? Just from this one screenshot the first thing that I'd check is the ESA utilization as you use only one port of the controller. I'd also check the switch port counter and reset it to see any error counter increase over time.

Yes, that is the one port your controller is using now. As Ronald stated, you can get the information from the Topology/EWC Port Stats, or Wired Topology Stats.

Also, you can take a tcpdump packet capture from the ESA port (eth0) from Controller/Network/Utilities page to get a feel for the network traffic traversing that port:

What is the Availability timeout set to (seconds)?

What is ESA? Is that the one port on the controller that connects to my network? (I didn't initially setup the wireless controller). Is it normal to use just one port, or do you use multiple?
