We run TV Stations throughout our network via multicast(sparse) with networks at each local router that talk to end devices. We run OSPF for communication throughout our network and we have multiple RP's that these end devices can request channels from.

Recently, we started experiencing issues fairly far out in our network where a couple channels, in the middle of some multicast ranges were not working properly. I could rotate them on the ring a few hops in either direction and finally get them to come online.

My suspicion is that we are transporting L2 traffic for some end users that is stepping on our groups. My initial thought was to put transport circuits or the multicast traffic on it's own VR but I'm not sure how we can do that on our EAPS ring since the EAPS ports are all part of the default VR. I am looking for any best practices to protect our multicast networks from crossing paths or any other..."hey did you check this?"
