New Community Categories!

A few weeks ago, I shared a proposal for new categories.  I'm happy to announce that work has been completed in migrating threads to their new home with minimal impact to users!
A handful of new categories were created for various products and concepts - I invite you to follow areas of interest to be kept in the loop on new questions or problems posted by others.  We can all benefit from each others' knowledge!

Over time, these new categories will help us to help you by being better aligned with the structure of the GTAC Knowledge base (which you should take a look at if you haven't already!).

You'll receive an email notification of new topics posted in categories you're following.  To follow a category, navigate to its page (listed below) and look for the button.  You'll see the button if you're already subscribed.  If for some reason you are following a category and aren't receiving emails, please let us know.

You can see a full listing of all categories here: https://community.extremenetworks.com/extreme/categories/
You'll also find each of them listed below for your convenience:

Feel free to share with us your feedback about the new structure below.

Thanks,
-Drew

Congratulations! Restructuring a forum can be a crazy task - hope you came out relatively unscathed :)

Ha, thanks!  I made it out in one piece.  My mouse, however, may be a little worse for wear - lots of clicks helped make it happen :)

Really nice work Drew.  Thank you for making this is effortless as you could for our customers.

As Frank points out, not easy to do in an active community.  We really appreciate your deft touch.

Fantastic work. One question, why is there Wireless and IdentiFi Wireless?

The IdentiFi Wireless and SummitWM (WiNG) categories are product specific Wireless questions.  In some ways, these are sub-categories to the broader Wireless Category.

I think Drew was thinking that the broader Wireless discussion could span beyond the specifics of IdentiFi product set could be posted to the broader category of Wireless.

For example, this thread on Best Practices on 5Ghz Channel Planning is a great example Wireless thread that has no real tie to product.

Ryan beat me to the reply and nailed it - that's exactly the reasoning I used here.

Makes sense, and I missed that the SummitWM category is wireless too.

Why doesn't the EOS category here on The Hub have a nice logo like the most of the other categories.  Feeling a little left out here.  ;-)

It took a little longer than expected, but I just received and uploaded some new category icons.  The only one missing now is Network Essentials, but that will be taken care of soon.  Let me know what you think!

Looks great Drew.  Nice improvement to the Hub Community.
