I am trying to assign a specific port to a specific VLAN. However, after issuing the commands the egress of the port doesn't become modified.
I have an S series chassis.
Here are the commands I am using:
set vlan egress 90 ge.3.2 untagged
set port vlan ge.3.2 90 modify-egress

I then used the following command to verify my work:
show port vlan ge.3.2
ge.3.2 is set to 90

show port egress ge.3.2
output comes up with nothing.

show vlan

Just use "set port vlan ge.3.2 90 modify-egress" as that will already set the egress.
You don't need the other command for a untagged port.

So please type it in again and check.

To check use the command "show vlan static 90".

This will also show port/VLAN if the port is down/disconnected.

The "show port egress" shows active VLANs only. If the port is down, no VLAN is displayed, because nothing is active on the port. The same is true for "show vlan".

The command "show vlan static" shows the VLAN configuration, as does the "show vlan portinfo" command.

Another consideration when using "show vlan" and "show port egress" is the vlan egress will only be displayed if the port is forwarding.  So if the port is blocked by spanning tree or some other mechanism then the vlan egress will not be displayed.  In those cases the commands "show vlan static" and "show vlan portinfo" commands Erik provided would be the prefered method.
