Ridgeline high memory usage

Ridgeline high memory usage

Dear support,

Please advice whether it is normal when the server unit loaded with ridgeline 4 SP2 Patch2 on windows OS 2008 server, there will be consistently high RAM memory usage on java.exe [say about 4GB.

Is it normal for ridgeline generating the process of postgres.exe while running ridgeline software on the server unit? Is there a way to minimize the number of postgres.exe? Please advice.

Thank you

Hi Taykin, Thank you for your information. Unfortunately, we had downloaded the mentioned java version and tested on site. There is only a slight reduce in memory usage and still remains as high as 3.x GB. For your information, the current server now is having 8GB. With the mentioned java.exe usage plus each of the postgres.exe; we actually left with 3 to 5 MB. Then the entire Ridgeline NMS server hung and need to reboot. Best regards, Dennis neo

Java and postgrep can exceed 1.2G usage depending on the size of the database. This can increase given the number of devices added or polling of devices. Please ensure that Java Runtime Edition 7u79 is being used and that the Server meets the minimum requirements.

  • 2 GB RAM minimum (4 GB recommended).
  • 10 GB of disk space, NTFS filesystem recommended.
  • Swap space equal to double the amount of memory. For example, if you have 2 GB of RAM, you should have 4 GB of swap space.
Please let us know if RL is affected or degraded in performance.
