Update hardware compatibility matrices for QSFP+ fanout cables

Slightly off topic, but in relation to this. Can the datasheets and price list be updated to better describe what switches/modules will and will not support QSFP+ fan out cables. I am thinking specifically of the x460-g2, since as far as I know, it's QSFP ports are the only ones that don't support fan out.

Hi Ben,
I agree, this should be properly documented if it isn't already.  I'll need to send this to our documentation team so that it can be updated.
Ideally, it will make it to the Hardware/Software Compatibility Matrix.

Ben, a revised datasheet will be published with a clearer explanation of what works where.

In the meantime, as Drew recommended, you can check the ExtremeXOS Hardware/Software Compatibility and Recommendation Matrices that is located in the documentation section of our web site:

Thank you.
Can you also add to a to do list to fix the Extreme Networks> Products > download datasheet links so they actually open the datasheets. Alternatively you can fix the resources > datasheets section http://www.extremenetworks.com/catego... so that it is published in some sort of a format that makes more sense instead of published date.

I am guessing fixing the first link makes more sense and will be much easier to do than reformatting. The layout of the product section also makes more sense for a technical person is who looking for datasheets and tech details instead or press who would want to know the latest marketing info.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,
I spot checked a few of the product datasheet pages and they worked - the PDF open/download box popped up when clicking the link on the blue "Download Datasheet" button.
Example:  https://www.extremenetworks.com/product/summit-x460-series
Can you guide me to where you were seeing a problem opening the datasheet?

Regarding changing the layout of the Resources page... I agree with your suggestion, but I don't know how easy it will be to convince the webteam that it's a good enough idea to get them to put someone on it to change it.  As you mentioned, it's probably easiest for a technical person to go straight to the product's page and get the DS from there.

Thanks,
-Drew

Drew,

Here is where I most often see the error, on multiple products though I haven't checked every single link recently.

You can see in the hover link it only takes you to the current page.

It looks like something may not be working properly in your browser.
When you mouseover (or touch on a tablet) the blue button, you should see a dropdown to choose from:

EDIT:  I should also include this screenshot...

I tested this in Chrome, Firefox, and IE with no issues.  If it helps troubleshoot, I think the menu is CSS driven.

Hi Ben,
Were you able to get datasheet downloads working?
