I need to find out the port (speed) capabilities for some stacks. Is it possible through EXOS?
The goal is to know, which speed is maximum supported on the uplinkports. i dont need to know which SFP is currently insert.

If there is no similar command to Ciscos "show port capabilities", how can i get the model of each Stack member?

Hi, Holger!

There is a lot of command for to see what type of switch is stack member
My favorite is #show odometers
#show odometers                                              Service  First Recorded
Field Replaceable Units                 Days     Start Date
---------------------------------------------------------------
Slot-1         : X670V-48x                  337
Slot-2         : X670V-48x                  335

Hi Holger, Try this command:

Stack Topology is a Ring
Slot Port Select Node MAC Address  Port State  Flags Speed
---- ---- ------ ----------------- ----------- ----- -----
*1   1    Native 00:04:96:99:6d:dc Operational CB      21G
*1   2    Native 00:04:96:99:6d:dc Operational C-      21G
 2   1    Native 00:04:96:99:99:9d Operational C-      21G
 2   2    Native 00:04:96:99:99:9d Operational CB      21G

For port capabilities, this may be helpful:

Also, if you are just trying to get port capabilities for one slot of the stack, you can specify the slot number with a wildcard for the port. See the example below for slot 2.
Slot-1 Extreme.4 # show port 2:* configuration no-refresh
Port Configuration
Port Virtual Port Link Auto Speed Duplex Flow Load Media
router State State Neg Cfg Actual Cfg Actual Cntrl Master Pri Red

2:2 VR-Default E R ON AUTO AUTO UTP
2:3 VR-Default E R ON AUTO AUTO UTP
...
2:49 VR-Default E R OFF 10000 FULL NONE
2:50 VR-Default E R OFF 10000 FULL NONE
2:51 VR-Default E R OFF 10000 FULL NONE
2:52 VR-Default E R OFF 10000 FULL NONE

Hi,

Thanks.....

i suggest that the output of show ports configuration no-refresh only shows the current speed(current insert SFP), but not the maximal port speed which is provided by the switch.

Is this right?

That's correct.

I've asked one of our developers to let me know if he comes across an easy-to-access data structure that contains this information.  At first pass, it looks like port capabilities are stored in such a way that we can't easily retrieve them with python scripting.  I'll update the thread if there's anything new to share.
