What should I choose in OneView to set alarms for mac-locking and elrp events?

Hello, everybody!

What type of alarms should I choose in OneView to configures emails on such events:

1) Mac-locking blocks a port
2) ELRP blocks a port

Could it be accomplished with something different from OneView? Netsight Console, may be?

Because I have Netsight 6.3 (Windows) and there is a bug in OneView, confirmed by GTAC: https://community.extremenetworks.com/extreme/topics/problems-when-setting-the-group-for-the-alarms-...

Am I right that there is no free upgrade from 6.3 to 7.x?

Many thanks in advance,

Ilya

First you need the switch notifies the management = syslog or SNMP or both. the second step will be customer alarm definition as Ronald stated.

Do you see trap or syslog in NetSight if the ELRP / mac-lock blocks the port? if not you need to configure it.

Good luck

Z.

All the messages get into syslog.

As far as I'd see there is no pre-defined alarm for that so you'd need to creaet a custom alarm.

Please refer to the online help or take a look in the forum i.e.....
https://community.extremenetworks.com/extreme/topics/netsight-alram-notification

You'd need a valid service contract to upgrade as v7 requires a new license key.

Thank you, Ron.

Would Netsight 7.x take seamlessly 6.3's configuration during upgrade process?
