Why multicasting could work slow?

Why multicasting could work slow?

Hi, team,

I have Microsoft SCCM and WDS server with Windows images, X670 in the core and X430s on edges.

Multicast OS deployment constantly works vert slow, it's about 8Mbit/s only.

No multicast limits per port on X670, nor on SCCM side. Client PCs are fast enough (7th Intel generation).

ipforwarding and ipmcforwarding are enable for all required vlans.

What most likely could be the problem?

Many thanks in advance,

Ilya

P.S.

There is a tricky string in the X670's conf and I have no idea what to do with it:

configure forwarding ipmc lookup-key mixed-mode

Hello Ilya,

Are there any ports congestions or rx/tx- pause flow-control counters?
Is it L2 or L3 mcast ?

Best Regards,
Nikolay

it is just "show" commands to check if there any pauses on the path from mcast destination to source.

Best Regards,
Nikolay

Hi, NIkolay,

many thanks for your replies.

On what switches and ports should I apply these commands? On core, on access? On ports to SCCM or to PC?

Thanks

Hello Ilya,

You may check it with the following commands:
sh port flow-control rx-pauses no-refresh
sh port flow-control tx-pauses no-refresh

Best Regards,
Nikolay
