Share your custom Flexviews with the community

I have created a few custom Flexviews and find these really valuable. For example one custom Flexview queries my APC UPS and reports power consumption, battery life, and estimated run time. I'm sure others in the community have created their own custom Flexviews. My suggestion would be to allow users to upload their custom flexviews and share these with the community. This will help novices and veterans alike by giving them another resource to quickly expand the functionality of Netsight. If this idea takes off I would also recommend that within Netsight there is an easy import tool of Flexviews. (There might already be but I haven't found it. Currently I copy these from the directory itself.) Let me know what you think.

Stephen, That is a great idea. I have saved a number of these over the years with assistance with Bob Maheu. If this site is created then I would share my Flexviews to the space available. I can also share them now if needed such as emailing them through our SecureFTP site Jason

Hi Jason, I've created a Box account, but the link above just jumps to my account. Do you still need to share it or invite me to collaborate?

Wow, very nice collection. 🙂

Stephen, this is a great idea! If you would like to share Flexviews within the community, any file sharing application (Box, Dropbox, etc) can be embedded into a reply. All that is required is to make sure what you are sharing is a public document and then the community can benefit from this. If you would like to share your in this fashion, please feel free to do so in this topic!

I am not entirely sure about sharing them in Netsight. I will share this idea with our Product Management team and they will update. Thank you!

I really haven't spent enough time creating new Flexviews, so I think this is a great idea. I've recently seen a number of demonstrations of software applications that seem to monitor MOS scores on our Enterasys network, simply via SNMP. I'm wondering if anybody knows how we can do this via Flexviews?

This is a great question on its own and I think others in the community might have recommendations for this question. Please reference the new topic here: Has anyone monitored MOS scores with Flexviews?

Simon, I am not aware of a way as I do not think that there is a MIB for this information Maybe others would know this answer Jason

All, FYI I will try to share more of the Flexviews I collected over the years in the future Jason
Jason,

Please re-enable the Flexviews you had put out there previously. Box indicates they have been removed. Thanks

Hi,

this one is under construction and most probably be "under construction" for long time, but you can benefit from what I gathered over decades: http://extr.eu/NetSightFlexviews.htm

Good luck.

Pala,

Thanks for the great information. Any chance that you can add the FlexViews that were mentioned at the beginning of the post?

Also, is there anything special that needs to be done with the AP3000 FlexViews? We ran them against our controller in console (6.3.0.168), but received no results. We made the assumption that they should work for 3610/3705/3805, etc.

Thanks,

Bill
