Thx Ronald, but this is only for IP-FIX flow registration in Netsight, not mirroN for packet mirror to purview.

I hope that the first one also applies to a X460-G2....

Are you sure?

"The X460 and X460-G2 now (in code level 15.4 and above) fully support IPFIX and in 16.1 now have the n-mirror capability as a beta, although things work just fine but you will not get any support from TAC. In 16.2 the code will be GA, meaning that if you call TAC you will get support if you need it."

Hi Patrick,

Yes I am sure. From a support perspective the 460 doesn't provide an adequate solution for an enterprise environment. It can be used in a test/troubleshooting manner but not meant for full support.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the clarification. So this feature is only for lab/testing and not
for production... And even in lab the gre-tunnel oder rspan wouldn't work.

Hi Patrick,

The smaller flow cache on the switch and the lack of GRE tunnel for the mirror traffic to feed the purview appliance our two of the biggest issues I understood.

Perhaps in future releases the use of IPFIX will be used here......

Thanks
Jeff
