C5-series IGMP SNOOPING -Syslog Message - Firmware 06.81.08.0005


Dear all ,

I am getting the following Syslog message.

IGMPSNOOP[256638384]: snooping_timer.c(646) 194947 This is from manager 1 %% snoopMemTimerUpdate: Group membership timer not found

What is the logging configuration? Other than the message is snooping working properly?

Yes, the C5 stack is working properly.

Note: This Syslog message is only appearing in Netsight.

I got some feedback from engineering.

This message doesn’t necessarily mean there is a problem. Here is the scenario, we receive a membership report packet, during processing we look for the timer associated with group but don’t find it. There are a number of reasons why this can happen.
