Create Layer 3 Interface

Hello, I am looking to assign an IP address directly to an interface opposed to creating a SVI. Is it possible to create a Layer 3 interface within EXOS? Similar to the "No Switchport" command within Cisco IOS.

Hello Kevin,

You can add an IP address to a VLAN and only add in one port. This essentially gets you what you are looking for.

Here are some articles that should help you get started:

Kevin,

One thing different is EXOS switches share a single MAC we use for all ports.

Thanks for the explanation Stephen, makes sense when you put it that way.

Patrick, thanks for the advice, that was my backup plan if creating a Layer 3 interface wasn't an option.
