How to reset the password of another admin account?


I am trying to reset the password for another admin account on an Extreme x460-48p running IMG: 15.3.3.5

when I type
configure account [/code]It asks me for the Current user's password: however when I put in my password it says incorrect password for . So I am guessing they want me to put in the other admin accounts password but I can't as they forgot it. So my question would be do I have to delete the account in order to reset another admin's password?

Hi Josh,
Unless you're using RADIUS, the only way to reset a password for another user is to delete the account and re-create it.

Another solution is to TFTP the configuration to a server and make the modifications and then push it back to the switch.
Also
We have a reset button that you can hold in for about 10 seconds and release, then give time for the switch to update and then give it a try.
I will search for a KCS articles on these items

That's not necessary for a password reset when another admin account is known.
This is an EXOS switch - there's no reset button.
