What is it you are trying to solve? Why does the location of the firmware matter?

Hello,

Firmware images in EXOS are stored in two 'partitions' - primary and secondary. There is nothing to do with them.
If you issue 'show switch' you will see what are the installed firmware versions on those partitions and what is the booted image (primary or secondary), with 'use image ' you can select which to run at next boot.
Isn't that what you wanted to be know about after image download?

See the example output from EXOS Command Reference:SysName: SummitX

Hello,
Thank you for your response,

I just want to know in case I download a firmware for exemple in primary partition using ftp/tftp,

It is possible to know the location of the firmware to copy it internally to the secondary partition from the primary partition without dowloading again the firmware to the secondary partition ?

This isn't possible. The purpose of having two partitions is to allow you to roll back a software upgrade easily. It also provides the ability to fall back in the event of a corrupted or otherwise failed installation.

Correct. Once installed, the .xos image is removed from the switch.
