Legacy D2G124-12P Password recovery doesn't work

Need to recover the admin password. Following this:

Procedure


  1. Locate the pinhole in the rear side of the switch 
  2. Hold down the button for at least 5 seconds
  3. Login to the switch using any of the default usernames with a blank password (Default usernames: admin / rw / ro)

 

I’m on the console port.  I know the reset button is working because on the CLI I see:

     % Password Reset button has been pressed

I’ve tried admin, rw and ro with blank passwords, still getting 

     % User:admin failed login from console

 

Is there a different procedure?

I contacted GTAC- I guess this is pretty common and requires an RMA.

Looks like you’re following the right procedure here, I’d recommend opening a technical support case so our engineers can dig into this with you.
