IdentiFi Rate Limit

Userlevel 6
Hello, all!

Has an interesting issue with limit of Rate Limit in IdentiFi.

I can't configure more than 25Mbps.

But I need limit to 75Mbps.

Why so restriction?
How can I make workaround?
Main task to make restriction for Guest users to 75Mbps, for all other - no Rate Limits.

Thank you!

This it true and currently there is no ability to set it any higher. When rate limits were designed who would have thought you would ever need more that 25 Mbps. I would suggest you open a feature request case with Sales or GTAC.

How fast is the internet uplink because 10 guests = 750Mbps which sound a little bit expensive for a provider link.

Just to make sure... you are aware that the rate limit is per client and not for the whole WLAN service?!

So, you mean, that when we make Rate Limit and map it to WLAN service it applies to every client?
Not for all WLAN (and then is distributed based on Fairness Policy)?

OK.
How can I restrict bandwidth for WLAN?

Thank you!

Yes the rate limit is assigned to a role. The role is assigned to a user if there were a guest users on each radio of 100 AP's and each radio can service 1 client at one time it would be 200 radios x 75 Mbps.

Yes can not set a rate limit on a WLAN it is per user only hence the reason we never went above 25 in the rate limits.

Very good point Ron! If you have 100 AP's x 1 guest user on each AP it will be 100 X 75 Mbps of data heading toward the LAN/Internet.

Set the rate-limit on guest VLAN L3 Router or Firewall which bring to guests to the internet - at this point can get all guests as a whole with one rate-limit ...
