Default username and password WM3400 4.3.1.0

Userlevel 1
Just got a Controller and did a factory reset on it. However it seems the normal username and password combinations aren't working. Anyone know the default username and password for a WM3400 running 4.3.1.0-022R would be?
I've tried admin admin admin abc123 admin

Hi Sean,
WiNG 4.x is a bit different than 5.x.
Try using
code:
cli
at the login prompt before entering the username and password.
WM3400 login: cli[/code]

Thanks, the CLI allowed me to enter the username and password. admin admin123 seemed to work

Follow up question. It would appear that the AP4620s that came with this controller are probably running that same old firmware. They don't appear to be updating either, or they're trying and failing. The event log keeps reading "Legacy access point being updated" . I read somewhere that I can SSH into the AP and do the following:

enable erase startup-config reload

However I'm unable to get an IP off these things. Any tips?

If the AP is running older legacy WiNG 4 firmware (v4.3.1), there is no CLI. CLI was introduced once AP is upgraded to WiNG 5. If APs are adopting to site controller via L2, these APs would not have an IP.

Not sure what version you are trying to upgrade to, but the AP needs to be upgraded to v5.2.13 first, before moving forward to a more current release.

Hmm, it seems to be having trouble upgrading through the Controller. Are there other options to get this firmware upgraded? All it does at the moment is attempt to update then restart.
Thanks for the help! 🙂

Upgrade for AP 650 from WiNG 4.x to WiNG 5.4.x or later is NOT seamless and requires additional steps. AP should first be updated to any WiNG 5.2.x or 5.3.x image. Please set in the controller profile “service wireless ap650 legacy-auto-update-image to point to WiNG 5.2.x or WiNG 5.3.x AP 650/6532 image.

You will need to download the AP v5.2.13 and perform the following steps on the controller running v5.5.5.0.

For example:

• Copy AP 650/6532 5.2 image on the RFS flash
rfs4000-22A1B8#copy tftp:///AP6532-5.2.0.0-069R.img flash:/AP6532-5.2.0.0-
069R.img

• User the below command to first upgrade the AP650s to a 5.2 image
rfs4000-22A1B8#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
rfs4000-22A1B8(config)#self
rfs4000-22A1B8(config-device-XXX)#service wireless ap650 legacy-auto-update-image
flash:/AP6532-5.2.0.0-069R.img

• If auto upgrade is enabled AP650 will get upgraded to 5.4.x once it adopts to the
controller, else use the below command to upgrade the AP650 to 5.4.x or later
rfs4000-22A1B8#device-upgrade ap650 .

The file I'm looking for. Will it be for the WM3400 or the AP4600? I can find the 5.2.0.0 file for the WM but not for the AP

It would be AP firmware. You may want to call our support center, if under entitlement, in order to obtain the necessary firmware to move forward.

Found the file. AP4532-5.2.13.0-015R.img worked.

Followed your instructions and it fixed the issue. All APs updated from version 4 to 5.

Awesome news Sean and glad you were able to locate the file, which is quite old, and resolved the issue.
