Anyone have experience or documentation for setting up a captive portal with the 4511's? I have never done it and wanted to get some documentation.

Configuration steps are almost same as wm3600/wm3700 Configuration example is available in extreme downloads

Here's a guide that shows how to configure a Hotspot in controllers.

The actual steps will be a bit different for the 4511, but the idea is the same. One difference is that the 4511 does not support an internal RADIUS server so the part on RADIUS Group policies and user pools is not applicable and has to be done in an external server.

This is absolutely right.but the document is for 5.1
One more important thing to note.
make sure you have ap4511 version greater than 5.2 to use it as a controller.
there are also slight changes in version 5.4
Thanks to all! I will report back once I have the config completed.

Fortgot to tell you AP4511 doesnt have console.
So you have to login by connecting to the ethernet port.
Default ip address would be 169.254.x.x [last two octets of mac address convert to decimal].

Hello again,

This issue got swept under the rug for awhile, but I have been forced to circle back to it. I was wondering if anyone is still monitoring/responding.

I have read the documentation and it seems pretty straightforward. There are a couple of issues though.... The system is on 5.4 firmware so, no more updates that I am aware of. I can't seem to find any documentation on the external radius setup and since this is fairly old software, I would assume an older radius server would be best (server 2008). Also, I can't set the vlan hosting interface on the captive portal policy. This is for a guest network and the guest vlan is tagged on the uplink port, do I need an untagged interface for this to work? Any help would be appreciated.
