It's 2 x MLXe4's currently on 5.5.
We don't have any support. Bought this gear from a vendor just for our engineers to "play" with.
Do we have to purchase suppoort (even though it's a non-prod unit), or what can one do to get access to the software.
In our Brocade account - we could download MLXe and VDX firmware with no issues.

If you've got support on other MLX gear, your contract will allow you to download them just the same. Without support, however, the option to download isn't available.
Your best bet is to contact your account manager to see if they're able to provide software as an evaluation.
