I recently added 3 AP370 access points to my network, and have added their serial numbers to my ExtremCloud account.

Two APs are working well, and I've updated their firmware and set their configuration successfully. The third is giving errors trying to update firmware or push configuration. It's currently on firmware 6.5r4.

The log from the device when I'm triggering a firmware update from ExtremeCloud shows:

2020-03-16 04:53:05 info last message repeated 4 times

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info capwap: SSL:unknown version (0)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info ah_cli: admin:<_release-lock save-image>

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info kernel: [mpi]: socket is closed, pid(393272), protoc ol(17)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info kernel: [mpi]: socket is closed, pid(327736), protoc ol(17)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info kernel: [mpi]: socket is closed, pid(131128), protoc ol(17)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info ah_image: mpi close ah_image/blockreply(0x60038)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info ah_image: mpi close ah_image/blockevt(0x50038)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info ah_image: mpi close ah_image/lowestevtlib(0x20038)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info kernel: [mpi]: socket is closed, pid(262200), protoc ol(17)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info kernel: [mpi]: socket is closed, pid(196664), protoc ol(17)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info ah_image: mpi close ah_image/hievtlib(0x40038)

2020-03-16 04:52:29 info ah_image: mpi close ah_image/evtlib(0x30038)

2020-03-16 04:52:28 err curl: Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to ^B :443, SSL_connect=-1, SSL error=5

2020-03-16 04:52:28 info capwap: inform PM to start check.

2020-03-16 04:52:28 info capwap: save image availiable free memory: 257740, n eed memory 28672

2020-03-16 04:52:25 info capwap: sending image upgrade event 0

2020-03-16 04:52:25 info ah_cli: admin:<save image https://aus.extremecloudiq .com:443/afs-webapp/hiveos/images/AP390-6.5r12.img.S admin ***-******* password *** basic no-prompt>

2020-03-16 04:52:25 info last message repeated 2 times

2020-03-16 04:52:24 info capwap: SSL:unknown version (0)

2020-03-16 04:52:24 info ah_cli: admin:<show config version>

2020-03-16 04:52:24 info last message repeated 2 times

2020-03-16 04:52:16 info last message repeated 8 times

2020-03-16 04:51:16 info capwap: SSL:unknown version (0)

Similar issues on the forum have been resolved by updating the firmware in steps from the web UI. Are there firmware files available that I can use to try this?

Thanks

That's excellent Sam, thanks very much. Using the firmware file you sent I was able to update the access point and so far it now seems to be connecting and updating config correctly in ExtremeCloud.

Thanks for your help.

I am having the same issue, which I believe is an outdated TLS/SSL protocol. My device is an AP350:
#show hw-info
...
Hardware revision: 01
Product name: HiveAP350
Hardware ID: 0
Manufacturing date: 20110917
Number of MAC addresses: 64
Manufacturing version: 1
Antenna ID: 0
Aerohive hardware key: 0
HW Auth Device Status: success
TPM Status: success
AH-714c00#2022-05-26 22:42:04 info capwap: SSL:unknown version (0)
2022-05-26 22:43:04 info last message repeated 4 times
2022-05-26 22:43:04 info capwap: SSL:unknown version (0)
2022-05-26 22:43:11 info ah_dcd: get track-ip trigger access console request: cancel.
2022-05-26 22:43:34 info capwap: SSL:unknown version (0)
2022-05-26 22:44:04 info last message repeated 3 times

I have been unable to get the hive manager to update the firmware, although it shows on Events in the Hive that the firmware did download. Is there a fix for this?

Thank you,
