An orange or amber LED light means it is powered on, and possibly broadcasting SSIDs if it has a configuration, but not connected to a HiveManager. This guide will walk you through how to manually tell the AP where to connect, depending on your HiveManager platform:

HiveManager Classic (myhive.aerohive.com):https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/CAPWAP-HiveManager-Classic

HiveManager (formerly NG, cloud.aerohive.com):https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/CAPWAP-Guide-for-HiveManager-NG

What is the configuration of the upstream switch port, i.e. trunking vs. access. Is the 250 MAC address appearing on the appropriate VLAN? Is it getting an IP address?

So the problem ended up being one of the pins on the female rj45 port inside the AP. It was bent and touching another pin. Got it straightened and now it connects with no issues
