You can try them that way, it's just that some commands don't work with that CLI interface so I typically default to using Putty. It can't hurt to try via the GUI though if that's easier.

We have an open network (guest public no auth access), which we have recently decided to add a CWP/UPA Page to . The problem is that for users who already have connected to this open network, they will have to go into their device settings and forget the network in order to trigger the UPA Page, otherwise, it appears to them that the network is not functional. Is there a way to get around having all of our users do this?

Once the users are removed from the APs cache, they should be automatically directed to the CWP. Otherwise, manually forgetting the network is the only way to re-authenticate to that SSID. You can manually clear the AP cache with the following commands:

clear auth local-cache

clear auth roaming-cache

Thanks Sam!

Since I'm a novice in the more advanced areas of AP management...are these commands to be run from CLI access?

Be well!

You got it, they do need to be run in the CLI. This guide reviews how to get to the CLI of one of our APs, for reference: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/How-to-SSH-in-to-a-device-using-PuTTY

Thanks for that. I did see there was an option to send commands to "CLI Access" from the Monitor > Devices - Actions menu. I take it these commands are not going to work that way?
