We have support licenses and entitlement keys (a.ka. AP licenses). You can purchase support and entitlement separately or together. You need an entitlement key to use devices in our HiveManagers (unless you're using HiveManager Connect, which never requires entitlement keys). The entitlement keys will cover a number of devices that are manageable in HiveManager.

Thanks Sam ... but maybe I should have asked this question - why do we have 3 VHM licenses?

From our HM Classic - Number of VHMs licensed: 3

Number of Aerohive devices licensed: 82

I understand the AP licensing and the purpose of the entitlement key, so what does the VHM license do?

Thank you for clarifying for me. That aspect of the key only applies to on premises deployments, and it's for the number of sub-vhms they could make with the key. For an online instance, it doesn't make any difference.
