In general you would see that data in the buffered log, which overwrites itself when it gets full so I'd recommend a syslog for long term log collection. If you can let me know which type of CWP you're using, I can try to be more specific.

@Sam Pirok We have another discussion going on another thread. All I need it to capture the name/email of the person via the Aerohive CWP along with their MAC address. Simple and easy. I want to be able to view it real time (with-in reason).

I have it all setup. When I try to connect, the browser is not redirecting. Apple iOS device. I get "Please wait...if you cannot see the login page, close your browser and try again." I do, but same. Then it will time out to site can not be reached. Device has a valid IP.

If you try browsing to a non-cached site, or if you try going to 1.1.1.1 do you get the same behavior?

Also, are non-Apple clients having issues? Apple has the CWP assist function, so their interactions with CWP tend to be a bit different than other devices. It would help to narrow things down if we knew how an android or windows client was doing.

I have tried with the Apple option turned on and off. Yes, other non-apple devices are having the same problem.

Thanks for that VHM ID, the only issue I've found so far is that the user group and the user profile have a different attribute, those will need to match to make sure users can connect. However, I don't think that's the cause of your issues now. I'm going to review this with a few colleagues to see if they can find something I missed, I'll let you know as soon as I have more information.

Also, I just wanted to confirm, do you know if port TCP2083 is open on the firewall? That's the port we use for CWP traffic, so I just want to make sure it's open.

If it is heading out bound then it would be open by default. I am certain it is closed coming in. I am probably going to have to roll it all back later today if I can't nail it down.

If you go in to the SSID> Expand Advanced under optional settings> Where you see User Profile Application Sequence, can we switch that to Captive Web Portal> SSID> Mac authentication? You'd want to push an update out to the APs so they know about the change, and then if you could let me know the results when you try to connect again, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for trying that, and for you patience troubleshooting this. I noticed we're using HTTPS but we're using the default certification, which means no browser will trust the connection. Could you try disabling HTTPS in the CWP settings to see if that lets you through?

That's everything I could think of, I think at this point you'd be best served by opening a technical support case so we can a) keep track of what we've tried so far and b) set up a call with a technician so they can troubleshoot this with you. I understand if you have to roll the config back, but if you don't delete the SSID object, we can work on it and add it back in once we've got it figured out. If you can let me know the case number you are assigned, I can put in my notes on what we've already tried so you don't have to start from the beginning.
