Yes, the on premises HiveManagers need to be able to contact the aerohive license servers, otherwise the HiveManager will assume the entitlement keys are expired and will lock you out of the GUI until a new key is entered (or connection is re-established with the license server). Best practice recommendations would be to allow the aerohive.com domain. Traffic needs to be allowed both ways, but I believe it is the license server that initiates the check-in processes required.
