It depends on if you are using HiveManager Classic or HiveManager NG. If you are using HiveManager NG, there is no GUI option for this as of yet. If you are using HiveManager Classic, you will want to go to Home> Device Management Settings> LED Mode> Steady. This will set the LED to on at all times.

Hope this helps.

I'd imagine a CLI Supplement would work for legacy or the new HM platform.

Something like the following might help.

system led power delay x

-x can be a number from 0-72 to indicate hours with the default being 24. This controls how long before the power saving delay begins.

system led power-saving-mode on y off z

-y can be a number from 1-100 to indicate seconds with a default of 4. This controls how long the LED stays on.

-z can be a number from 1-100 to indicate seconds with a default of 64. This controls how long the LED stays off.

Pulled this data from this old forum topic - https://community.aerohive.com/aerohive/topics/ap230-status-led-stays-off-after-firmware-update

Trying to avoid using CLI as it involves consoling in on the access point - nowadays should be able to use the cloud based hive manager and to do it offsite.

So I must be using Hive Manager Classic as have gone into Home> Device Management Settings> LED Mode> Steady and reapplied so will be interesting to see if this works (we're still in the 24 hours where the LED stays on so won't know til after this)

Bob,

CLI Supplement is not using the console. It's actually just applying CLI commands via the GUI that are not otherwise configurable parameters available in the GUI itself.

Under Hive Manager Settings, you have to enable Supplemental CLI. Then in Configuration - Advanced Configuration - Common Objects, you have a CLI Supplement sub-menu where you can create the object. You then apply that list of commands to hardware via modifying them (in mass if needed) under the Optional Settings - Advanced Settings - Supplemental CLI dropdown.

We do this to exclude channels from our WLANs in environments where certain spectrum is just un-usable among other things. And while not ideal, it does serve the purpose of applying odd configuration items to hardware that the HiveOS supports but the HM GUI doesn't have built into it.
