Disabling lower data rates will help with this as well. That will require a stronger signal between the AP and the client device before the client device can connect or roam to a new AP. These data rates are in the SSID settings, if you can tell me which HiveManager platform you are using, I can give you more specific directions.

I would recommend disabling 1-9 for 2.4GHz, and 6&9 for 5GHz, leaving the MCS rates as they are by default.

This guide will walk you through how to determine which HiveManager you are using, for reference: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Which-HiveManager-Platform-am-I-using

It would be difficult without assigning that AP a unique Network policy. Could you elaborate on the situation? If I know what the details are I may be able to suggest an alternative solution.

The situation is a small site with 2x AP's. A static device in one of the meeting rooms consistently connects to the AP that is furthest away and therefore suffers from bandwidth issues. The only way that i have managed to work around this for the moment is to turn the broadcast signal strength down on that AP, therefore forcing the device to connect to the nearer AP.
