I’ve got an AP230 I used to use and now its been sitting for a couple years. Is there a way to update it to the latest firmware? Current version is 8.0r1.

You should be able to update the AP’s firmware in ExtremeCloud IQ by going to Manage> Checking the box next to the AP> Update Devices> Update firmware. This will reboot the AP, just so you are aware.

Thanks for the reply! Is there a way to do that without a current account and/or license? This AP has been unused for the last couple years and I don’t currently have a licensed account.

@Sam Pirok I’ve now setup a ExtremeCloud Connect account, but when I go to add the device, it says:

“The device appears to be in use by another VIQ”

When I try to sign into the MyHive where I used to manage this AP it says

“The license has expired, you need to get a new entitlement key.”

So now I’m stuck. Can you forcibly remove the device? SN: 02301407180262

Thanks for letting me know, that device should be free to add to your new inventory at this time.
