Hiveagent is a layer of code that allows non-Aerohive devices to interact with the Aerohive HiveManager, it doesn't have any customer facing "functions" per say.

All configuration should be done through the HiveManager GUI. I would recommend browsing the page that is found at Configure> Open the Network Policy> Go to the Device Templates tab> Go to the Switch Templates sub tab> Click ADD and select your switch type. Here you can see the configuration options available.

You might also find this page from our help file useful (which you can access by clicking on the question mark icon on the right hand side of the HiveManager page):

For a manual covering Dell switches you'd likely want to speak with Dell support.
