Hi,

I want to connect my PaloAlto Networks Firewall PanOS 8.1 with the Aerohive .. or otherwise. My Problem, I see only the AP IP in my Firewall log. So I need User ID and other Information.

I only found this link but its a old solution https://community.aerohive.com/aerohive/topics/palo_alto_firewall_integration?topic-reply-list[settings][page]=1#topic-reply-list

I hope there is now a better way without a Kiwi Log Server. Or can I use a other syslog something free software?

Is your firewall using syslog data to pull this information? What configuration options does your firewall have for this data collection?

PA kann pull Logs but here i found a old paper.. Is this https://manualzz.com/doc/23623919/aerohive-and-palo-alto-networks a supported way?

Thank you for your patience while I looked in to this for you. I've been informed that this document is no longer accurate, and we are still working on a replacement. In the mean time, I might recommend setting up a conference call with Aerohive support and your PaloAlto support so we can work with you to get you the information you are looking for.

Okay. Too bad. That doesn't sound so great to us. We had heard that Aerohive and Paloalto firewalls work very closely together and exchange information.

It would be very nice if a supported way + guide would be available soon.

I also would like to know if there's any real progress on this. Getting information from Aerohive to map users to IP addresses has never worked.

Any news on this? I just spoke with a couple of Techs at ISTE and they mentioned something about using PPSK and Radius at the same time as a work around to getting the info to the Palo Alto.
