Our licenses aren't tied to particular devices, but are concerned with the total number of devices. For example if you have a license for 10 devices and you need to replace one of the original 10 with a new device, you won't need a new key. However if you have a license for 10 devices and want to add an 11th device, you would need another key to cover the extra device count.

When the license expires your ExtremeCloud IQ platform will lock down to one page where you can enter a new key. Your devices will continue to operate and pass traffic as normal, but you won't be able to manage or update your devices until you apply a new license.
