Edit the User Group

Hi Team,

Can we edit the user group, rather than delete and recreate the same ?

Hello Prashan,

From Configure Tab -> USERS -> User Groups

You can select a group and Modify, there will be some fields that can't be changed.

It depends on which setting you are trying to edit. If you go to Configure> Users> User Groups> Check the box next to the group in question> Click on the edit symbol at the top (looks like a small notepad and pen), you can see what settings are adjustable without creating a new user group. If you can let me know what setting you're interesting in adjusting, I can give you a more specific answer.

Thanks for clarifying Prashan, I just tested this in my lab and I was able to adjust experation settings on an exiting group with users already created in the group, so you should be able to do this.

Hmm I was able to change that in my lab, but I don't know all of the group settings you're using so it wasn't an exact replication. Could you send me screen shots of the entire user group set up so I can see what the results are in my lab? I do know there are some settings that are not adjustable, depending on what the set up is, but I would like to confirm this for you if possible.

Thanks for the screen shot, I can confirm that this is expected behavior. Mainly because you're using a local database password location, which limits your expiration options to Never Expire, or Valid during dates, and we would not be able to change to valid during certain dates, or what those dates are, after the group has been created. I'm sorry for the long wait on an answer, and that I couldn't give you better news on this. Please let me know if I can clarify anything for you.

On same topic, is there any way to edit user group already existing to allow: renew user credentials feature without actually deleting and creating group again ?

Unfortunately Expiration settings like the ability to renew expired credentials aren't something that can be changed after the group is saved. Those settings need to be in place before the user is created, so an existing group won't be able to change those settings.
